Overnight Ghost Hunting at Haunted Caves of Nottingham

13th Jun 2008

Haunted Location: Nottingham -The Underground Caves of Nottingham are extremely haunted and if you are brave enough to withstand the intensity of a real Ghost Hunt then this really is the event for you. Nottingham Caves are very active spiritually and there has been a lot of witnessed and recorded activity in this network of dark passages and endless caverns.

The Nottingham Caves have always formed a very important part of the region. When they were first built they provided sanctuary and shelter and also a very powerful hiding place. They eventually became thriving tanning works. The Caves are artificial, they were carved out of the sandstone rock by the dwellers inhabiting them, and grew to such an extent that they are now a very complex network under the City of Nottingham.

Nottingham Caves with Haunted HappeningsThe main dwellers of the Caves were the poorer population particularly those who were involved in the Tanning Industry, of which there is sill a lot of evidence. The last family to move out of the caves was the Shore family who left in 1924. After that they were used mainly for storage purposes until World War II when they became used as air raid shelters.

We visited the caves recently on a paranormal investigation and the discoveries we made did not fail to convince us that this was indeed a very haunted and active location. Read the blog for further information on what we discovered through video footage and visitors experiences.

21st Jun 2008

Haunted Location: Edinburgh - We are delighted to introduce this exciting opportunity to carry out an overnight ghost hunt at the infamous Blair Street Vaults. I am not telling you this to put you off but believe that you should feel prepared.

These long lost forgotten spaces came to public attention in 1985 after a chance excavation revealed the labyrinth of corridors and rooms of these man made spaces. Over the years there has been some very ghostly and unexplained activity. Further excavation has revealed even more secrets of this desperately haunted location.

Ghost Hunting at Margam Castle

28th Jun 2008

Haunted Location: Port Talbot – Margam Castle is one of many “mock” castles built in the gothic revival period. It was commissioned in 1830 by Christopher Rice Talbot and constructed over a 10 year period.

The architect in charge of the design of the Castle and its estate was Thomas Hopper but Talbot took a keen interest in overseeing all of the construction and ensuring that he added his own signature to the building.

The Castle was lived in by The Talbot Family until it was eventually sold in 1941 to David Evans-Bevan. However, he found the Castle far too big to live in and after attempts at selling it to any interested organisation failed, it fell into disrepair. It was eventually bought by the local authority and opened to the public in 1977. It was not until it then became damaged by a fire that serious restoration work began on the building. Today it is a Grade I listed building under the care of Port Talbot Council.

This is an extremely active and haunted location. When the Most Haunted Team visited here in July 2006 they picked up on the murderous and sinister activity inside the Castle and outside in the grounds. Read on to see what you may encounter when you visit this very haunted location.

Haunted Location: London E3 Haunted Ragged School - Originally a school rented by Dr Barnardo in 1876 the Ragged School was used by him for the purpose of educating children from the ages of 5-10 in an attempt to prepare them for their first employment.

12th Jul 2008

haunted location: Derby - Acquired in 1997 by Richard Felix who became famous as a member of the popular Television Programme, "Most Haunted", Derby Gaol is a working museum. It has been restored as much as possible in an attempt to replicate its original state. There are two very important cells, the condemned cell and the debtor's cell. There is the grafitti from the original prisoners still on the doors with names, dates and day markers etched into the wood. This marked down the days left until execution.

This location is perfect for ghost hunting as there are many hauntings recorded. You will also be provided with a main course meal and there is also a bar provided if you need a drink in order to steel yourself for the activities ahead.

The ghosts of Derby Gaol are well documented. Richard Felix himself claims to have seen a ghost at the Gaol in November 1999. This ghost was in the form of a grey mist which crept across the room from the main entrance. Many visitors claim to have been touched and to have felt overwhelming emotions at the Gaol. Locked off cameras have caught a lot of activity on webcam.

It will be really interesting to see what we capture on our cameras at this very interesting and intensely haunted location.

Overnight Ghost Hunt Wymering Manor

19th Jul 2008

Haunted Location: Hampshire The site of Wymering Manor dates back to AD500 when it is recorded that the old Manor House was first used. Wymering Manor is medieval in type, small and homelike. The architecture in the cellars clearly demonstrates its Roman, Saxon or Norman origin and it was on these foundations that the Manor House was built. A Priest hiding hole was detected in the cupboard in the South East corner bedroom and adjacent to it is an unusal depth of chimney which is suggestive of other hidden and secret areas.

Wymering Manor has been inhabited by a great list of people, too vast to mention but there is also photographic evidence of a visit from Queen Mary on April 14th 1929. There are many historic artefacts in Wymering Manor which include a lock of Napoleon's hair and a lock of Wellington's. These were discovered either side of a locket inside a glass case with the rim inscribed. The history is vast and incredible with despatches from the Duke of Wellington also being discovered.

The history of Wymering Manor also has a ghostly past. Ghosts and Spirits that haunt this location include The Lady in the Violet Dress, The Embalmed Girl, The Hanging Man and the Choir of Nuns.

Wymering Manor is renowned as a favourite of ghost hunters across the UK and beyond. Many visit regularly to ensure that they catch a glimpse of the previous occupants.

These apparitions are all reported sightings from visitors and previous owners of the Manor.

The night will begin with a short history tour in order to explore all the nooks and crannies of this fascinating building and then we are off to investigate what spirit and ghostly activity await us.

Haunted Inns of York - The Punchbowl

2nd Aug 2008

Haunted Location: York - York has been officially named as the most haunted City in Europe. As the Ghost Capital it is not difficult to locate the most haunted venues. The Punchbowl fits in wonderfully with this description as it houses some of the most tragic ghosts and spirits. It has been a victim of fire twice in the last 150 years. Unfortunately the second fire claimed the life of the then Landlord whose ghost is reputed to haunt the bedrooms.

The Punchbowl also has a seedy side to it as it was once a brothel. A prostitute of this brothel was beaten to death by a customer who patronised the premises. Her tragic spirit has been seen and heard on many occasions, mainly in the bedrooms and corridors. The cellar is also extremely active and many visitors have reported some very strange phenomena in that area.

The Ghosts of Ye Salutation

9th Aug 2008

Haunted Location: Nottingham Ye Olde Salutation Inn in Nottingham is reputed to be one of the oldest and most haunted pubs in Nottingham.

The first evidence of this building is displayed on the apex wall as '1240 AD' however, the first building on the site belonged to a Tanner. Their workshops would have been situated on the ground floor with living accommodation up above for the Tanner and his employees.

Borough Records state that a private dwelling existed on this site under the name of John Alsastre. When the Puritans came to power in 1649 they insisted that there were religious implications of the name 'Salutation' and ordered that the name of the Inn be changed so it was then called the 'Soldier and Citizen'. When the restoration of the Monarchy began the Innkeeper bought back the old name of the Salutation Inn.

The caves beneath the pub are thought to be 9th Century and were lived in by Saxon folk. The main haunting of the caves is said to be that of a young 4 year old girl and there have been some very strange happenings to support this. 'Pure Fear' are the words used to describe the feeling of many people who have visited this strange and eerie place.

We will have exclusive access to the haunted caves and cellars of this wonderful location and then be able to spend the rest of the night in the haunted pub. This is a fantastic opportunity to carry out a traditional ghost hunt using all of the equipment and working with our paranormal team and mediums. On our last visit here we were met with a very sinister and overwhelming presence. We were not prepared for the intensity of the spirits at that time but now we are more than ready.

The Ghosts of Bodelwyddan Castle

16th Aug 2008

Haunted Location: Denbighshire - The history of Bodelwyddan Castle dates back to before 1460. It was home to the Williams family for about two hundred years from 1690. How the Castle is seen today is due to the creation of Sir John Hay Williams dating from between 1830 and 1852. Other works at this time included extensions and refurbishment to the house along with a magnificent estate wall and formal garden

There have been many ghostly sightings and occurrences reported over the past few years. This is not suprising due the gruesome discovery during redevelopment work in the nineteenth century. Human bones were found near one of the chimneys which were said to be built back into the wall. This means that they are still there to this day. Other ghostly sightings and apparitions include shadowy figures drifting down the corridors. A blue lady in the Terrace Tea Room. There have been many, many more unexplained phenomena in the Castle. What will you see when you join us on this fascinating location?

Ghost Supper at Haunted Chambercombe Manor

27th Sep 2008

Haunted Location: Ilfracombe, Devon - Dating back to the 12th Century Chambercombe Manor was the home to some glorious times. It was visited by Lady Jane Grey who was a descendent of the house’s original owners, the Champernon’s. Unfortunately the Manor lost its status as the Great House and became used as a farmhouse until recent times. It has now been renovated and many of the original fixtures and fittings have thankfully survived.

The ghosts of Chambercombe Manor are in abundance. There is a really sinister past associated with this House and the legends surrounding the Manor attempt to enlighten us as to the discoveries made. This includes the skeletal remains of a young woman which were discovered in a hidden room. Notorious, villainous activities which resulted in the deaths of many sailors passing by. The ghostly little girls seen in the upstairs rooms and a ghostly lady in a long white dress has been seen next to the pond on several occasions.

You will be able to discuss many aspects of Mediumship and the Ghost and Spirit World and also share your experiences with us. The Ghost Hunt will incorporate many areas of the Manor and you will be carrying out vigils and séances in the attempt of making contact with the paranormal world.

There are very limited places to this event so if you prefer a smaller, more intimate group to ghost hunt with then this could be the location for you.

Overnight Ghost Hunt at Haunted Wymering Manor

11th Oct 2008

Overnight at Haunted Bisham Abbey

24th Oct 2008

Haunted Location: Berkshire - The name Bisham Abbey was taken from a lost Monastery which stood alongside this Grade I listed Manor House at Bisham. Built around 1260 it was a community house for the Knights Templar. When they were suppressed in 1307 the manorial rights were taken over by King Edward II who granted them to various relatives.

In 1310 the building was home to Queen Elizabeth of the Scots during her confinement along with other female members of her family. She remained there for 2 years until removed to Windsor.

This wonderful buidling was dissolved on 5th July 1537 but on 18th December of that year it was refounded as a Benedictine Abbey.

Bisham Abbey has its own resident ghost, spectral lights, doors opening of their own accord, invisible hands pulling at bedclothes and many sightings of Lady Hoby. Burning lights have been seen which indicate the old flame styled torches. Read more to see what you may encounter when you join us at Bisham Abbey.

HALLOWEEN Overnight Investigation at Haunted Berkeley Castle

31st Oct 2008

Haunted Location: Gloucestershire - We are extremely privileged to be able to bring this location to you as we will be the very first paranormal investigation team to carry out an overnight investigation inside Berkeley Castle. Mr Berkeley has allowed this event to go ahead and we are extremeley grateful to him and his family. Not only that, but we are carrying out this investigation on the most active night of the year, Halloween, what more could we ask for.

This is an amazing location. Remarkable in the fact that for 900 years the building itself, the Berkeley family, the archives (which date back to 1117), the contents, the estate and the town have all survived together.

The estate itself consists of 6,000 acres and includes one of the best examples of a medieval deer park in the country. Evidence also suggests that there may have been a mint here in Saxon times. The history of the Castle itself is vast and their is a wealth of details to impart with you on your visit here.

As you would expect, a castle of this calibre is also rife with ghostly goings on and spectral beings. There are some very gruesome and terrifying stories relating to the ghosts that haunt this location but suffice it to say they are frequently seen and heard. We are very anxious and nervous about what we may discover here and want you to join us on this historic night.
